Imagine classic stories brought to life with circus skills, partner acrobatics, puppetry, & classic physical comedy!

 

Circus Theatre is the blending of theatre as we know it with circus added in to enhance the story and move it along more dynamically.  The students will learn basic physical comedy, juggling and other basic skills, simple partner acrobatics, and other disciplines, then learn how to use what they learn in the scenes we rehearse and perform.

Circus Theatre Information

 

Details

Fizzical Fairytales’ Circus Theatre Workshop meets each Monday for six sessions (19 September – 24 October from 4.30 to 5.30.  Please be sure your child has a water bottle labelled with his/her name.  Please have your child wear secure shoes – not flipflops – as we have active days, and a light sweater or equivalent.

 

Family and friends are invited to a final showing in the Cottage at 4.45 on the final day.

 

Mission

Fizzical Fairytales strives to provide a safe, positive, and productive experience for each young person so that all participants involved can enjoy success.  For this to be possible participants must display:

• developmental readiness

  • the ability to follow directions which may include learning and delivering lines, blocking, choreography, and/or music. 

• emotional and social readiness

  • the ability to work cooperatively with the other participants, the director, and the student aides. 

• physical readiness

  • independence in meeting physical and hygiene needs.

 

Behaviour

• Students are expected to be respectful of the facilities we rent.

  • Refrain from gum chewing and venturing into areas not assigned to us.

  • Work together to leave the area the way we found it.

  • Respect others’ property (lunches, personal items) by not touching that which is not ours.

  • Respect others’ contributions and ideas by being positive and constructive.
